Family Researcher
Kevin Auld (This page last updated: 7 March 2003.)

This page contains links to gravestone photos taken at Frankfort, Marshall County, Kansas. The photos were taken June 16, 2002, on a Fathers Day excursion. Kevin Auld found the cemetery and took pictures. Mishal Weaver located the graves. The cemetery is about ½ mile west of Kansas Highway 99 on Tumbleweed Road in the northwest corner of Frankfort. If you wish to view the technical location information visit USGS - GNIS. If you visit the USGS link click “Show Feature Location” to view two provided maps.

We made notes during the visit hoping to create an “accurate” diagram showing the location of Auld family members within the cemetery. A number of Auld graves were located. There were two groups of graves with large monuments bearing the AULD family name. The legend in the lower left corner of the diagram: Auld Family graves at Frankfort Cemetery relates the diagram location markers with the family members name.

The Dan C. Auld family plot (5) contains a large AULD monument. Dan C. Auld (5a) [1] [2] and several family members are buried in this group. Dan’s first wife Jane Auld (5b), who died as a result of childbirth complications, rests next to her husband. Their sons Dan P. Hale Auld (5c), J. B. Auld (5d) and his wife Louisa J. (Keener) Auld (5e) complete the row. Opposite Dan and Jane are their infant children Albert Auld (5f) and "Infant Babe" (5g).

Another large AULD monument (2) marks the family group of William Hamilton Auld (2e). William is the first child of Dan C. and Jane Auld. He rests beside his bride Mary Ellen Bradford (2d), and three of their children, Agnes J. (2c), George W. (2b), and Sidney H Auld (2a).

William D. Auld (1) was the first child of William H. and Mary Auld. He was married to Miss Blanche Busby (1) for 54 years.

John Frederick Auld (3) was the third child of William D. and Mary Auld. He is buried next to his wife of 52 years Miss Jennie Rebecca Hays (3). They had two children, Minnie and Mark Hamilton. Buried next to John Frederick and Jennie is Elsie (Fenton) Auld and Infant (4). Elsie was the wife of Dr. Mark H. Auld. Sadly after having been married for only a year Elsie and their child died during childbirth. Here is another view of the graves of John Frederick, Jennie Rebecca, Elsie Fenton and child.

Minnie (Auld) Heleker (7) is buried next to her husband Herbert Lent Heleker (7). The graves of Herbert's uncle's and their wives Arthur A., Christine, George B., Georgia E., and Herbert's cousin, Helen H. Heleker, are very near Herbert and Minnie at location (6) on the diagram.
